  • High-Cost Claims & Catastrophic Care – Helping employers better prevent, identify, and manage catastrophic healthcare spending through data-driven strategies and innovative benefit design, with current emphasis on specialty pharmaceuticals, advanced therapies, oncology, and other emerging drivers of healthcare cost.
  • Cancer Prevention, Screening and Care – Supporting employers throughout the cancer journey, from prevention and early detection through treatment and survivorship. Current initiatives include expanding routine screenings and vaccinations while improving access to high-quality, evidence-based oncology care.
  • Prescription Drug Affordability – Advancing pharmacy benefit transparency and employer strategies to address the rapidly growing costs of specialty pharmaceuticals, including GLP-1 therapies, HIV medications, cell and gene therapies, and other high-cost prescription drugs.
  • Primary Care Transformation – Promoting advanced primary care models that improve quality, access, patient experience, and total cost of care through employer-centered benefit design and innovative delivery models.
  • Rural Healthcare Access – Working with employers, providers, policymakers, and community organizations to identify and reduce barriers to quality healthcare for North Carolina’s rural workforce.
  • Social Determinants of Health – Supporting collaborative approaches that address the non-medical factors influencing health outcomes, workforce wellbeing, healthcare access, and overall healthcare costs.
  • Mental Health – Promoting practical, evidence-based solutions that improve access to quality behavioral healthcare and address the growing impact of mental health conditions on employers and their workforce.
  • Healthcare Transparency & Value-Based Purchasing – Advancing hospital price transparency, healthcare quality measurement, and value-based purchasing strategies that enable employers to make more informed healthcare purchasing decisions.
  • Workplace Wellbeing & Organizational Health – Advancing employee wellbeing through leadership, culture, and evidence-based workplace practices, including our annual North Carolina Culture of Wellbeing Award.
