Who is NCBCH?
The North Carolina Business Coalition on Health (NCBCH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition that brings North Carolina employers together with other key healthcare stakeholders to improve the quality, affordability and value of healthcare.
Employers are at the center of our work. Through their collective voice—and collaboration with other healthcare stakeholders—NCBCH works to educate, advocate and innovate for a better healthcare system for employers, employees and their families.

NCBCH brings North Carolina employers together to address healthcare issues affecting their organizations, employees and families, while collaborating with other key healthcare stakeholders across the state.
Our membership in the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (“National Alliance”) connects that work in North Carolina with a national network of employer and purchaser coalitions, giving NCBCH members access to additional expertise, resources, educational opportunities and perspectives from across the country.
Employers are typically represented at NCBCH by those leading HR, Benefits, Total Rewards or Finance, as well as other senior leaders seeking to improve healthcare value and support the health and wellbeing of their employees and families in a fiscally responsible manner—while also helping advance a better healthcare system for all North Carolina consumers
General (employer) membership dues are only $250 for the entire organization on a rolling annual basis.

Membership and Support
NCBCH achieves its mission through the support of its members — General (Employer), Affiliate, and Advisory Council.
We also welcome grants, donations and collaborative partnerships with likeminded organizations that support our mission.
General (Employer) Membership
Companies employing at least twenty-five (25) individuals either based or residing in the State of North Carolina can apply for general (employer) membership.

The principal representative for employer members is usually the person(s) leading HR, Benefits, Total Rewards or Finance. Additional representatives from the employer can be included at no additional charge

Events
Spring and Fall Forums
NCBCH holds two statewide Forums each year, bringing employers together with healthcare experts and other key stakeholders for education, discussion and networking.
Forums address timely issues affecting employers, including healthcare costs and transparency, pharmacy benefits, behavioral health, chronic conditions, legislative and regulatory developments, and other emerging healthcare and benefits topics.
Employer Roundtable Lunches
NCBCH periodically holds smaller employer roundtable lunches across the state, providing an opportunity for peer discussion of healthcare and benefits issues in a more informal setting.
Issue Specific Roundtables
Employer members may also be invited to specialized roundtables, collaboratives and other discussions focused on specific areas of interest.
National Alliance Events
Through NCBCH’s membership in the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, employer members may have access to national educational programs and events, including the annual Leadership Summit and Annual Forum, at complimentary or discounted rates.
Initiatives
NCBCH works on a range of healthcare issues important to North Carolina employers, including healthcare cost and transparency, pharmacy benefits, obesity and diabetes, behavioral health, cancer, health and wellbeing, and other emerging areas of interest.
We collaborate with employers, state and local organizations, universities, healthcare leaders and other key stakeholders to explore solutions and advance better healthcare value and outcomes for employers, employees, families and consumers across North Carolina.
Culture of Wellbeing Award
NCBCH’s annual Culture of Wellbeing Award recognizes North Carolina employers for outstanding programs and practices that support the health and wellbeing of their employees and families.
The award is open to employers across North Carolina, and recipients are recognized at the NCBCH Spring Forum.
Hospital Safety, Quality & Transparency
NCBCH serves as the North Carolina Regional Leader for The Leapfrog Group, supporting efforts to improve hospital safety, quality and transparency across the state.
Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Grade provides consumers and employers with information about hospital safety, helping patients make more informed healthcare decisions.
