The American Medical Association (AMA) and Manatt Health released an analysis this month identifying effective state policies used to combat the opioid epidemic. According to a recent Rand Study which reviewed data from hospitals and employers in 25 states, private health plans in North Carolina pay an average of 234% of Medicare. Coincidentally, this is the average of all the states in the study, however the rates between those states varied from a high of 311% in Indiana,
